Terry Cooper (known as Cooper to his friends) has been called America’s RV Expert and has developed a name for himself as The Texas RV Professor.
When he began working on the production line for the Skyline Corporation in Mansfield, Texas in 1972, he began the journey that would take him to where he is today.
As a College Instructor, Cooper developed training programs that would take an inexperienced person and prepare them to become a RV Technician working in the RV Service and Campground industry.
The Professor is the recipient of the RVIA National Scholastic Achievement Award from the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association. He is a RVIA/RVDA Master Certified RV Technician, licensed insurance claims adjuster, RV Inspector and is an outside Instructor for the Texas Railroad Commission.
Cooper has served as the Chairman of the Education Committee for the Texas RV Association helping develop the training and continuing education for its members.
Due to the increased demand for professional training in the RV industry, the Professor has created onsite training modules for the RV Dealer and Service Center. This Professional Training Service is conducted at the dealership or service center and is based upon the specific needs of the Service Department personnel.
For the RV Consumer, he has created the Take Home Technician Series to help the “do it yourselfer” develop the skills to enjoy the RV lifestyle. He believes that 80% of the issues that folks have with their RV are things that they can handle themselves if someone will just show them how.
The Professor is a technical adviser and educator for Workamper University where he produces webinars, DVDs, books and other training materials for the RVer that is preparing to go full time and work on the road.
To help Workampers develop their technical skills and provide Campgrounds with additional services the Professor has created the RV Maintenance Technician for Campground Program which is a 5 day intense classroom and hands on learning experience. This program is being offered across the United States at various locations for those that want to learn RV maintenance by doing it.
The Professor is the co-host on the RVNN.tv show Ask the Professor where he answers RV related questions for the RV Industry. He has been a featured guest and technical adviser on two segments of Classic Rides, a DIY Network Series that featured a 1970 Air Stream Renovation Project.
The Texas RV Professor and his wife, Lady E are familiar faces at various RV consumer shows and aftermarket trade shows where they lecture on how to select and enjoy the RV that is right for you.
