My goal is to blog about once every 7-10 days and will strive to make that happen because so much can happen during that time. I have to share this photo of this unique ‘RV’. I want to call this photo…”Where there is a will…there is a way”. Terry and I took a day trip down to San Antonio to a very nice campground on the southwest side to do an RV inspection last week. While there…I couldn’t help but take a picture of this small compact RV. The sun was going down and obviously, the occupant was home. Here is a small cargo trailer (approx. 6×8) converted into an RV. On the far end was a small A/C window unit mounted just above the hitch. With a side door and two (yes, two) windows…one on each side, there would provide plenty of light coming from each. No, there was no plumbing that I could see but was plenty of electricity. Terry and I resisted the urge to knock on the door and quiz it’s owner on the process of how it was transformed. Now I wish we had because we don’t see recreational vehicles like this everyday. How cool is that?

Now that Terry and I have moved to Somerville, TX – we have the privilege to live in the same area of many family members. My mother-in-law, who we all call Meme, is working hard this year planting and harvesting plenty of garden vegetables. Being that I have started working with my Excalibur Dehydrator back in January…. it has been my pleasure to take possession of many pounds of tomatoes. I take the ones that are nice and firm, peel them by dipping in a boiling water bath. The skins will come off easily after dipping in cold water. Then slice and place on the Excalibur trays. Six to nine hours later they come out of the dehydrator ready to be stored in a vacuumed packed package or in an airtight container for easy access for cooking.

The tomatoes that are more ripe and won’t go through the slicer easily are put into the cooking pot to cook down to a sauce. I place onion, garlic and some Italian seasonings in to cook down and mix flavors. Once it is cooked down to the consistency that I like…it is cooled to room temperature. I had no canning jars at this time so I elected to place a couple of cups of sauce in a freezer zip bag and let freeze. Once frozen,I will go back and place each bag into a vacuumed pack bag just for extra protection in the freezer. I will use these up within the next year. Oh, and should you do this, don’t forget to label the package with content information and the date of when it went in the freezer.

Here is a video I did back earlier this spring with RVNN.TV talking about dehydration. This video is a combination of a few shows that are being done on that network. I hope you enjoy it.

Before Spring Break, Terry surprised me with a Cruise to the Bahamas in celebration of my 50th birthday. Oh, what a wonderful treat it was. To get away and enjoy being work-free for a few days to enjoy the beautiful scenery and relaxing time on the ship.

We left on Sunday, March 7th from the Galvestion Bay and returned 7 days later. We took lots of pictures and I’m going to share some of those with you here. Before we left, I took the time to trade in my dinosaur phone of two years, to the wonderful Blackberry Tour through Verizon. With it I was able to take some amazing pictures, I know you will agree.

This was our first ‘trip away’ that Terry and I have taken since we were married December 16, 2008. We have traveled quiet a bit, however, business is usually the cause. So, there were things that I did find out about Terry Cooper that I was pleasantly surprised at. Like…. he can sleep past 5 a.m. and he can stay up past 10 p.m. We have always enjoyed dancing together… so nearly every night we were in the Piano/Blues, 60′s Bands or Disco areas. I tried my best to get him up on the Karaoke stage but NO GO… on that one. I found out, about myself, that eating a Mexican buffet at midnight does not set well on my stomach.

We had 3 stops along the duration of the cruise. The first being Key West, my favorite of all three. It was warm, the water was incredibly blue. The Island was filled with beautiful coastal homes…so much history that I was amazed to learn about. We went through a couple of Museums. Took the Conch Train Tour of the Island. (Very interesting) We saw the “Little White House”. A place where some of our past Presidents came to do their planning before Camp David was built. I was blown away by the tropical plants and flowers. Coconut and Banana Trees… all along the streets that were lined with beautifully restored homes with colored shutters and big front porches. I will never forget the beauty…

More later…. in Part II.

Ladies this course in NOT just for men, but for you also! As a technical trainer I have found that women usually do very well because they grasp the concepts quicker and are able to convert them to real life situations because they don’t over analyze the process. They just do it!

Have you ever had to pay for a service call and the 1 hour minimum, and then have to wait for someone to come to your RV just to perform some simple little task you could have done if you had only known what to do? You then realize how valuable knowledge is.

The Recreational Vehicle Electrical Systems is a 6-hour instructional Webinar broken into four sessions with each being 1.5 hours long.

After registering for the course you can take the optional 50 question pre-course assessment and see how RV Electrical savvy you are. You then download the first session’s handouts and video link materials.

At the end of each session you are given the opportunity to turn in your homework in the form of a post session assessment. This serves as an additional training tool to help you grasp the information you have learned and helps me to make sure that I am covering the subject matter in an effective manner with you.

Come spend six hours and learn the language of Electicity and develop new troubleshooting skills that will benefit you and your wallet.
