I took a course last summer I learned about through Workamper News and trust me even if you don’t want to work on the electrical you will come away with a better understanding about RV wiring and what to look for to stay safer while RV’ing, not to mention the money you could save yourself if you ever need a RV Tech. They offer courses on anything RV’s. So if you don’t understand something they have a course on it. I listed the website below.
I have been working for Workamper News since November of last year doing their press releases and social media. So because of that, we promote the workamping lifestyle and Workamper News where ever we should go. Janice and Dave shared with us their past in workamping and what dreams they are currently striving toward. What a great couple they are so I suggest that you follow their travels and be a part in sharing in their dreams….. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ready-to-Go-Full-Time-RVing/140059842696916

We had over 35 RV owners attend his session last week where they learned valuable information about LP systems in the RV. Having received so many great comments about Terry’s classes, we are in hopes that he will do a presentation each month. Whether you’re a long time RVer or new to the RV lifestyle, Terry has something for everyone.

Hi Lady E and Professor,

I had a gentlemen come into the campground yesterday to check on monthly prices. He and his wife have decided to full time, since he travels so much for his work; now she will travel with him. He has never owned an RV and was going to start looking with his wife next weekend. I gave him a few tips on things that are important to look for and told him to make sure he received a thorough walk through after the purchase. He asked what it was, so I explained and told him I was recently certified as a Walk Through Tech and how important it is. He was so excited when he left it made me feel good.
So I just wanted to pass that on since its all your doing. Because of my new education he was now sure they had made the right decision and he promised he would be back. So now we have a new RVer and more revenue for the campground.

I am so excited about all of our new knowledge of RVs and RVing; I just want to Thank you both.

We look forward to more classes in the future.

Steve,

I want to thank Workamper University for sponsoring the RV repair classes & Certified Walk Through Tech class presented by Terry & Evada Cooper of Mobile RV Academy. I have completed both the Electrical Class and the Certified Walk Through Tech program. Both classes were presented in an very easy to understand format, and were packed full useful information. The Cooper’s presentation of the material, follow up to questions, and providing helpful, useful information was excellent.

I probably just paid for both of the classes. My wife and I just returned this past weekend from Colorado visiting with our daughter’s family. While there my wife was using the microwave in the camper and it started to smell like something was burning. (It was not the food inside.) I removed the electrical panel and checked the wiring inside to see if anything might be loose or burned. Didn’t see anything that looked abnormal. The microwave breaker did feel a little warm. I turned the breaker off and told my wife I would look into it further when we got home. (You can live without a microwave!)

Last night armed with my trusty VOM, screw drivers and pliers, I began to investigate the problem further.

Checked electrical panel for loose connections and discolored wires. Everything OK there.

Breaker was working OK, and getting good reading on VOM.

Took microwave out. Took it to shop and plugged it in. Put glass of cold water in and turned it on. No smell, water got hot. Microwave OK.

Went back to camper to check microwave plug. Getting about 122 volts reading on meter. That,s OK.

Took cover off microwave plug, and there was my problem. The hot wire had come loose from the plug connection. It was just hanging on to the push down connection. Probably made reading OK, but not with load of microwave running. Black insulation on wire looked brittle.

Replace plug with house plug, didn’t use the plug with push down connection. Felt like it would probably just come loose again. Cleaned wires and reconnected.

Put microwave back in and tested. No smell, just hot water.

Just Paid for my classes!!

Thanks again!! Looking forward to future classes.

I would like to thank the Professor for the Certified RV Walk Through Technician course. I feel much more prepared now in caring for my RV myself than I did before. I was probably the least knowledgeable in the class and where I would have loved more information I understand the need to adapt the course to the broader audience which included some with a lot of experience. The professor has a rare talent in that he can explain things to the point where it includes all knowledge levels. That is a gift. I did learn a lot.
